Amber + Erin
Love Between the Pages: Book-Lovers' Photoshoot in Kansas City
As a Kansas City wedding photographer specializing in LGBTQIA+ affirming photography, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing the love story of Amber and Erin during their early spring couples photoshoot. Meeting these two incredible women was a delight from the start. They are not just a couple in love; they're quirky, artistic, and intelligent individuals who share a deep connection.
Their Story
Amber and Erin's love story began during the pandemic on a crafting Zoom call, where Erin quickly fell for Amber's charm. Amber, a librarian with a passion for books, often shares her favorite reads with Erin, who is a therapist by profession. For their photoshoot, they brought along two books by their favorite author, Tamsyn Muir, which added a unique touch to the session and showcased their shared love for storytelling.
The Session
Our first stop was the downtown Kansas City Library, where we incorporated the incredible larger-than-life book murals into their photos. It was a perfect blend of their love for literature and artistic expression. The images we captured there were not just visually stunning but also reflected their personalities and interests.
After the library, we headed to Case Park, overlooking the picturesque West Bottoms of Kansas City. The sunset backdrop was nothing short of breathtaking, and the golden hour light bathed the couple in a warm glow. As they snuggled, danced, and shared intimate moments, I focused on capturing the raw emotion and connection between them.
Adding the Cinematic Vibe to Couple’s Sessions
Looking back at the photos from Amber and Erin's session, I'm thrilled with the cinematic feel and the authenticity we were able to capture. These images go beyond just capturing a moment; they freeze in time the genuine love and affection they have for each other. That's what makes couple's sessions like this so special to me.
While wedding days are filled with their own unique magic, couple's sessions allow us to slow down and focus solely on your love story. There are no expectations or anxieties about being "good at pictures." It's about being yourselves and letting me capture the beauty of your relationship authentically.
If Amber and Erin's photoshoot is any indication, my focus on authenticity and storytelling in wedding photography is more than just a trend—it's about creating magical moments that you can cherish forever. If you're a newly engaged couple in Kansas City looking for a wedding photographer who values your love and individuality, I'd be honored to capture your special day.
