As I sit down to reflect on 2024, I’m struck by how much this year has brought in terms of growth, adventure, and incredible connections. It’s been a year filled with new challenges, memorable trips, and moments I’ll never forget—both professionally and personally.
One of the most exciting new ventures for me this year was stepping into the world of microweddings. These smaller, more intimate celebrations introduced me to some truly wonderful couples. I’ve come to love the unique energy and closeness of these weddings—they feel so personal, and they’ve given me a chance to work in new ways that challenge and inspire me.
Travel was a big theme in 2024 as well. I had the privilege of working in some incredible destinations: multiple vibrant weddings in Detroit, an unforgettable trip to the mountains of Colorado, and a tropical celebration in Jamaica. Each location brought its own flavor to the year, reminding me why I’m so passionate about what I do.
Closer to home, my year was filled with standout Kansas City weddings and beyond. Natalie and Steph’s spring wedding at The Gatsby on Oak was an event to remember. There was an active tornado watch when the day started, but it ended with the most stunning sunset over downtown KC. In the summer, I photographed a breathtaking wedding at Shannahan’s Barn in Charlevoix, Michigan. Northern Michigan in the summer is magical, and it was amazing to experience that beauty as the backdrop for such a special day. And I ended the year on a high note with Evvie and Donovan’s chic downtown Kansas City wedding at Magnolia. Their bold style and the way they made the space their own were a dream to photograph.
On the personal side, 2024 was just as meaningful. My baby celebrated his first birthday this year, and watching him grow has been the most rewarding part of my life. We took him to northern Michigan for the first time, where he discovered a love for the outdoors. By the fall, he was walking—and now, nothing can slow him down!
Looking ahead, I’m feeling motivated for 2025. My goals include booking at least ten more Kansas City weddings, starting a consistent blogging and social media plan to stay connected with all of you, and continuing to develop my unique style as a photographer. I want to push myself creatively and deliver even more for the couples I work with.
To all my clients this year: thank you. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your incredible moments. And to everyone who follows along on this journey, your support means the world. I’m grateful for each and every one of you. Here’s to a bright, exciting, and creative new year ahead!
